After you join a LinkFamilyTM network, the next step is to put up to ten AncestorLinksTM on your site. An AncestorLinkTM is a link from your site to each of the ten generations above you in your network (one to your LinkParentTM, one to your "Link Grandparent", one to your "Link Great-Grandparent", etc.)
If you started your own LinkFamilyTM or don't have ten generations above you, we will substitute relevant links from other LinkFamilyTM networks that are related to your site's Category. We always give you the option to "opt out" of one or more of your links. This way, you're not obligated to promote your competitors or any sites to whom you are not comfortable referring your clients.
We try to make the display of AncestorLinksTM as simple as possible. We give you the code (HTML) to put on your website. This is HTML code can be displayed on any website and does not require any special programming language or skill.
There are no restrictions on where you can put your AncestorLinksTM. However, since these are links of trusted sites, we encourage you to place them on a page that is no more than one click from your home page. You would want your LinkChildrenTM to do the same when linking to you. And, really, what makes this all work is that you are a member of a "family" of businesses committed to helping each other promote each other's website.
